BEFORE RESETTING TCP/IP REBOOT (SWITCH OFF) THE COMPUTER AND MODEM/ROUTER FIRST AND RETRY.
Proceedure for resetting TCP/IP
- Select Windows Start
- Select Run
- Enter CMD and select OK
A black screen should appear with c:\documents and settings\[variable name]>
- Enter netsh and press Return (on the keyboard)
- At netsh> Enter interface and press Return
- At netsh interface> Enter IP and press Return
- At netsh interface ip> Enter reset c:\resetlog.txt and press Return
The whole process should take 1-2mins. If you use ADSL and the PC still fails after rebooting, try checking the DNS settings & temporarily disable the firewall.
